Mel Denyer Lucy*Fur

I never post forums but I thought on this occasion I'd make an exception. Mel Denyer (Lucy*Fur), wife of Stuart, dj, club organiser, stepmother and very good friend to many, including people here, died yesterday at 1 am of small cell ovarian cancer.

Many of you will know her from Whitby, as she was the organiser and resident dj at the Thursday night club Creamy, along with several Edinburgh and Glasgow clubs, including Vain, Chimera, Bitch, Amatis and Nightmare A'fore Xmas. 

 

She was so well loved by so many people, including me, and I couldn't let her passing go by without mentioning her here.  RIP Mel, may you find peace at last.

I only had the pleasure of meeting Mel a few times, mainly at the
Nightmare Afore Christmas events in Edinburgh. Her friendliness and
enthusiasm was a joy on every occasion we did meet, so I can only
imagine the hole this news must have left in so many people's lives. My
best wishes and condolences to all her friends and family.

Thanks Alun, I've spoken to Jaymz about playing Together in Electric Dreams by the Human League for Mel tomorrow night. It would be an honour if you could play it for her. Thanks so much for your support, see you tomorrow night. xxxx
